Attention: Print all pages for future reference.
NOTE: There are many different assignments on your Whole Health CD. You will not need to complete all of them. I usually vary the assignments that I require each semester. Thus, if it is not listed on the Assignment Deadlines page, it is not a required assignment. Complete only the assignments listed on the Assignment Deadlines page.
Regarding Late and Missing Assignments
I do not accept late work and there are no make ups for missed assignments.
All assignments are expected in my email in-box by 4:00 pm Pacific Time on the day they are due. Anything submitted after that, I will not grade.
Problems with computers and ISPs is the technology equivalent of "my dog ate my homework." Since your assignments are already posted, and since you can complete them ANY TIME, there is really no excuse for not getting your assignment in early, or at very least on time.
Completing your assignments early is a MAJOR advantage that you have over a traditional class. As I have suggested in the past, I would recommend you try and send in your assignments at least one full day early.
Also note, that there will be NO EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES IN THIS CLASS. Given the flexibility in turning in assignments, there should be no reason for me to offer "free" points.
Locating and Completing Assignments
Links to all assignments are found in the Distance Learning area of the WholeHealth web site. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to complete assignments before the due date.
Important note: unless otherwise noted, deadlines for all assignments are at 4:00 P.M. (Pacific Standard Time) on the day that they are due. Regardless of when you send your assignment, they must be in my email inbox by 4:00 pm. I recommend that you plan to turn your assignments early. You can turn your assignments in any time before the deadline and I would recommend that you work ahead on your assignments, just in case anything unexpected should happen. At very least, you should plan to turn your assignments in one full day early to prevent missing the deadlines.
Submitting Web-Based Assignments
Most of your assignments will make use of web-based forms. These forms allow you to type in responses and then you can submit the form by clicking on a submit button at the bottom of the form. ALWAYS use a word-processing software (e.g., MS Word, AppleWorks, etc.) to type out your assignment summaries before using the web-based form. This way you have a copy of your assignment in the event that some electronic "accident" should happen; and they do happen! Don't worry about fancy formatting (i.e., Bold, italics, fancy fonts, etc.), these will be lost when the form transfers the text. After you complete your assignment, just copy and paste the contents into the appropriate text fields in the assignment form. When you have filled out ALL of the required text fields in the form, just click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form page and your assignment will be e-mailed to your instructor. NOTE: If for some reason you cannot get the form to submit, follow the suggestions on the FAQ page. If all else fails, attach your word processed files to an email and email them to me directly.
Completing Quizzes
The quiz dates are listed below, but you must begin studying for quizzes well before the scheduled date. Preparation for quizzes will require you to read and study the appropriate chapters in your text book and read online lectures. For more specifics on how to study for quizzes, go to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page and read: "How should I study for quizzes?"
