Learning Style Activity

Directions: This activity will help you to understand how you learn best and to see if you have the necessary skills to excel in a distance learning environment. This information will also help me to develop assignments and activities based on your preferred learning styles. [Print out this assignment sheet before going on]

  1. Go to the Learning Style inventory web page: http://academic.cuesta.edu/wholehealth/disted/ls_invent.htm
  2. Fill out the learning style inventory using the rating scale found on the inventory
  3. After scoring your survey, look up the interpretation of your scores by following the link titled: "Learning Styles Explained." http://academic.cuesta.edu/wholehealth/disted/styles.htm
  4. Write up a summary of your thoughts on your predominant learning styles and about how you like to learn best and why. You will post this summary using the form provided at the bottom of the learning style inventory. IMPORTANT: Before you write up your summary, be sure to look at the model learning style summary in the distance learning area of this site.
  5. Print out your learning style scores and keep for future reference.
