Library of the Health Sciences, University of Pittsburgh. It contains the
following subsections: AIDS and HIV, databases, Internet resources, mailing
lists and newsgroups, government resources, Pennsylvania resources, practitioners'
dictionaries, and related resources.

A nonprofit scientific educational organization dedicated to exploring new
frontiers of mind, body, medicine and health. ANMA watches for and opposes
legislation favoring special interest groups and prevents naturopaths from
practicing, and holds an annual convention.

Best selling author, medical Doctor, and proponent of alternativie medicine.
"Doc Weil's Database" has home remedies for common ailments, "Referral"
page puts you in touch with the alternative medicine practitioner appropriate
for your condition, and "Recipe" page gives you a "recipe of
the week"; a healthy recipe for good nutrition.

ASK NOAH, a project of New York Online Access to Health, is sponsored by major
public libraries and major academic and medical institutions in New York City.
Content was developed by qualified librarians and medical information specialists.
Links to a good mix of sites on a range of alternative therapies, although
some links contain minimal information. Available in English and Spanish.

Health World Online: Alternative and Complementary Medicine Center
This well-organized and information-packed website offers the following: a
discussion of traditional medicine systems and individual therapies, book
excerpts on utilizing complementary medicine, alternative approaches to specific
health conditions, a professional referral list, discusssion forums, a resource
center containing links to journals, books and professional associations,
an events calendar and a list of speakers.

This extensive site includes: Health Information and Tools, Resource Guide,
Links, News/Events, Professional Resources (an especially useful and comprehensive
collection), access to the Integrative Medical Arts homepage, and information
on IBIS software.

A large commercial site featuring some useful links: fulltext articles and
documents on holistic healing and alternative medicine, extensive links to
sites focused on various therapies, practitioner directories, conferences/retreats/trade
shows, USENET groups index, internet mailing lists.

for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at
the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides this large site which defines
CAM and classifies alternative medicine practice. The site also includes a
description of the Center's program areas, information on research grants,
a citation index of over 180,000 citations from Medline (1963-98); News and
Events, and What's New pages. A good place to learn the current position of
this government agency vis a vis alternative medicine.

professional section (limited access).

This familiar commercial web directory has a well-organized and eclectic alternative
medicine section with about 40 searchable topics, and a list of intriguing
links.
