David P. Diaz, Ed.D., is a professor of health
and physical education at Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, California
and currently serves as the Division Chair of Physical Education and Athletics.
He received his bachelor's in Physical Education and a Master's degree with
an emphasis in Wellness Management from California
Polytechnic State University. He also received a doctoral degree, specializing
in Computing and Information Technology, from Nova
Southeastern University. Dr. Diaz has been instructing at Cuesta since
1978. He has served as Employee Wellness Coordinator, Assistant Division
Chair of Health and Physical Education, and as Academic Senate president.
He holds two certifications from the American College of Sportsmedicine,
he is a certified Health/Fitness Director, and Health/Fitness Instructor.
Dr. Diaz has served on
many statewide technology committees including the California State Chancellor's
Office TTAC, TTIP, California Virtual Campus, and @ONE project teams, and
the Academic Senate's Technology Committee. He has conducted numerous staff
development, and technology workshops, and is a frequent presenter at technology
conferences throughout the state. He was recipient of the NSU 1999/2000
Research Excellence Award for his research in online learning. He also received
the 1998 "Outstanding Achievement in Technology in Education"
award from California's Community College Foundation.
