First Lab In general: Follow the procedures outlined in the lab manual for installing server 03 beginning on page iv. Take special care to ensure your hard drive partitions are like those shown, with this exception: If you have a hard drive with 4GB of space, format it as follows: 2 GB c: drive, 500MB d: drive, and 500MB unpartitioned space. In particular: The CD is bootable, so be sure to "press any key for a CD boot" during startup. If you miss this and continue on and an old OS begins to load, reboot to the CD. Do setup procedure 1. When your setup reaches the point where it asks you to select network settings, choose custom settings. Your TCP/IP information is as follows: IP address: 10.99.128.XX where XX is a number I will supply you. Subnet mask 255.255.0.0 Primary DNS: 10.99.128.101 Secondary DNS:199.245.155.139 Default Gateway: 10.99.1.250 Do NOT, DO NOT use standard settings. I will not bail you out if you do. The computer name is ServerXX where, once again, XX represents the number I will assign you. It will be between 01 and 30. It will not be a single digit (1, for instance). Do setup procedures 2 & 3. SKIP procedures 4,5,6, & 7. Do procedures 8, 9, & 10. Go home.
