Welcome to Engineering Dynamics

Hybrid Section

Note:  This is the Summer 2009 welcome letter.

Updates will be posted here

6/2: Email sent to all enrolled students about temporary access to Blackboard.

6/8: Another email sent to all enrolled students about the availability of your Blackboard account

Dear Student,

This summer will be the first time the hybrid section of Engr 251 is offered.  Some of you may be confused about what that entails.  This page is to help clear up that confusion.

First, please read the welcome page for the online section.  The similarities and differences between the two sections are listed below:

Ways in which the two sections are the same

Ways in which the hybrid section is different from the online section

Ok, I've decided I want to take the hybrid section of this course.  What do I do next?
  1. Register for the class.  For Summer 2009, the class is sections 50178.
  2. Around late May/early June, I will send you an email (though your Cuesta email account) with details on how to gain temporary access to Blackboard.  Since the summer session is very fast-paced, you are strongly encouraged to get a head start on the course.
  3. By Thusday before class starts, I will send all registered students an email (though your Cuesta email account) stating that a Blackboard account have been created for you.  If you registered for the class in the last week, it can take a week to get this set up so you might receive this email later.  Contact me if you are registered but have not received this email by Saturday morning.
  4. Your blackboard username is the same as your myCuesta username.  The default password is STUDENT (in all caps).
  5. Log on to your Blackboard account and complete Assignment 0 prior to the first class meeting.
  6. You must attend the first class meeting on June 15 or you will be dropped.
  7. Assignment 1 is also due at the first class meeting (or at 9am on Blackboard) as well.
