Tenet Healthcare Foundation donated $30,000 to Cuesta College Nursing
and Allied Health department today. This donation will allow more
students to enroll in the Nursing and Allied Health program, and support
increased student services, such as counseling and academic support. The
Tenet Healthcare Foundations donation is essential because of the need
for nurses on the Central Coast.
Terry Murphy, Chief Nursing Officer at Twin Cities Community Hospital
and Nicki Edwards Chief Nursing Officer at Sierra Vista Regional Medical
Center were on hand to present the check to Dr. Marie Rosenwasser,
Superintendent/President of Cuesta College. Brenda Gray, Director of
Business Development at Twin Cities Community Hospital and Ron Yukelson,
Director of Business Development at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center
were also on hand to present the check to the Cuesta College Nursing and
Allied Health Department.
“Without the support of these local area hospitals Cuesta College would
not be able to facilitate additional students in the Nursing and Allied
Health programs” said Dr. Marie Rosenwasser. “And the need for nursing
staff in area hospitals is a real one, making this donation invaluable.”
This donation fulfills the second of a two year $60,000 commitment from
the Tenet Healthcare Foundation to give $30,000 a year, allowing for
more students in the program along with increased student services.
French Hospital Medical Center, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, Marian
Medical Center, George L. Mee Memorial Hospital and the Cuesta College
Foundation have made the same two year commitment totaling $30,000 per
hospital.
