CUESTA COLLEGE JAZZ ENSEMBLES IN CONCERT
ON MARCH 17
The talent of the
Cuesta Jazz Program will be on full display this spring season, when the
college’s best student instrumental jazz groups take the stage at 7:30
p.m., Friday, March 17 in the Blakeslee Auditorium. The concert will be
directed by Ron McCarley, the Cuesta College Director of Jazz Studies.
The event will
feature the Cuesta Jazz Ensemble and four different jazz combos. Two of
the combos will play all original music. A diverse collection of music
will be featured, including a Count Basie tune and a salsa tune.
A Santa Barbara
native, McCarley is a professional jazz musician who has taught at
Westmont College and Santa Barbara City College. He
plays all woodwinds and is trained in a
variety of styles.
Tickets for
the concert are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors, Jazz
Federation members and children under 12. For more information, contact
