 CUESTA COLLEGE JAZZ ENSEMBLES IN CONCERT
ON OCTOBER 28
The talent
of the Cuesta Jazz Program will be on full display this fall season,
when the college’s best student instrumental jazz groups take the stage
at 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 28 in the Blakeslee Auditorium. This
special concert will be directed by Ron McCarley, the current Cuesta
College Director of Jazz Studies who took over for James Miley earlier
this year.
A Santa
Barbara native, McCarley is a professional jazz musician who has taught
at Westmont College and Santa Barbara City College. He
plays all woodwinds and is trained in a
variety of styles.
Music
numbers for the October 28 performance include “Time After Time,”
“Cuesta Blues,” “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” “Seven Steps to
Heaven,” “The Swinger,” “Mi Burrito,” and “Lady Bird.”
Tickets for the concert are $10
for adults and $8 for students, seniors, Jazz Federation members and
