WRITERS OF ALL KINDS HEAD TO SAN LUIS OBISPO
FOR ANNUAL WRITERS' CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 16-17

Writers from throughout California - published and non-published, veteran and novice - are heading to San Luis Obispo in mid-September for the 21st annual Writers' Conference at Cuesta College.

Most of the writers come to hone their writing skills, many come looking for an agent or a publisher, but all come eager to hear and share experiences about the art and craft - and often the business - of writing.

They will be guided by more than a dozen workshop leaders, including award-winning authors, editors, established agents, and master writing teachers, who will spend Friday evening and all day Saturday, September 16 and 17, offering 36 sessions about writing and publishing fiction, nonfiction, short stories, poetry and children's books.

Lolly Winston, an accomplished writer who hit the New York Times Bestseller List with her first novel, is the keynote speaker for the Friday night opening session. She will talk about how her career took a major leap forward when she met the right literary agent . . .while attending a writers' conference.

The conference registration fee of $139, which includes the opening session Friday evening and four workshops, continues to be one of the most reasonable in California, thanks to the support of Cuesta College and a generous grant from the City of San Luis Obispo Promotional Coordinating Committee.

New this year is a Young Writers Program track, available to high school and middle school students for a special conference fee of just $55. These classes, with the exception of the Friday night session geared to all beginning writers, are designed especially for young writers who want to explore the joys and rewards of writing.
