A lot of exceptional employees populate the San Luis Obispo and North County Campuses. A few are given special recognition by being named “Cuesta Stars.” Here’s a re-cap of who was special in the last three months:
May
Nanette Pina, Community Programs Assistant/Receptionist
“We think you’re a Cuesta Star because you ‘rode into Cabinet with your crown and flowing cape to save the day!’ Specifically, you quickly (within 20 minutes) made adjustments in scheduling Community Recreation & Education Programs so the College’s 40th Anniversary Celebration could move into the gym in case of rain, and you did it without negatively affecting the prescheduled programs. (It didn’t rain and the gym was not needed, but we were prepared.). You have been doing an excellent job in Sharon’s absence.” - Burma Workman on behalf of Cabinet
“You have done an awesome job of helping our
department in Sharon’s absence – providing financial reports,
working with all departments to keep our Community Programs running efficiently
and smoothly.” – Ree Kelly
“You have done an over whelming job stepping up to
fill Sharon’s shoes in her absence.
You have helped hold this department together and you are
appreciated.” – Lynn Hinson
“You have done a fabulous job keeping our department running smoothly while Sharon has been out. You tirelessly provide financial reports to keep others informed on our department, and attend meeting after meeting to keep us informed. Thank you for your support!” – Suzanne Espino-Brum
April
Ryan Cartnal, Institutional Research Analyst
“Since last fall, I have been working on the self-study report for the Philosophy Program Review. Ryan’s help has been invaluable to me. In addition to the data his office provides to all departments that are undergoing Program Review, Ryan also provided me with tremendous amounts of additional data, whenever I asked for it. I often wanted very specific (and obscure) sets of data; Ryan not only found such data for me, but also collated and configured it in such a way as to make it easy for me to understand.
For his tireless service above and beyond the call of duty, am both deeply grateful and deeply indebted to Ryan.” - Chris Gilbert, Philosophy Instructor
March
Jason Baron, Computer Services Technician
“You exhibit cool, calm professionalism in the face of
technological issues beyond & outside of the scope of your control. You are
awesome!” – Catherine Werst, Webmaster
“You put in the extra effort to see things are working. Your efforts with the PolyCom are greatly appreciated. You are terrific.” - Claudia Hayner, North County Administrative Assistant
