Cuesta College Medical Assisting Program Celebrates 10 Years

The Cuesta College Medical Assisting Program celebrates 10 years. The first group of students began the Medical Assisting program in the Fall of 1996 and the program has thrived ever since. The program consists of an Associate of Art degree in Medical Assisting, a Medical Assisting Certificate of Completion, and a Medical Assisting Certificate of Proficiency.

“Medical Assistants are a vital part of allied health,” said Mary Parker, Director of Nursing/Allied Health. “And we are proud of the important service they provide to the community.”

Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical duties to keep medical offices running smoothly. Medical assistants are required to complete a state or national exam to become a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. The Cuesta College Medical Assisting Program has a 99% pass rate of these exams.
