PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: As we end this semester, we say goodbye and thank you to wonderful colleagues who are retiring or resigning. They are featured in this issue. Join me in thanking and saying congratulations on your retirement to Sid Bartholow (Skilled Maintenance), Richard Johnson (English Faculty), and Bob Marshall (Math Faculty, NCC Coordinator). Each of these three have been so good at their job, helped Cuesta be the first-rate college it is, and taught the rest of us how to do a job well, stay focused on the students and the College, and be helpful to fellow colleagues. Thank you, Sid, Richard, and Bob. We also say goodbye to two faculty who are resigning—Karen Robert (Student Life and Leadership) and Sonja Manor (Math). While Sonja is resigning her relatively newly tenured position to devote full attention to her new twins, Karen has led Student Life and Leadership since 1989. During her career with Cuesta, Karen has guided the ASCC to the decision to assess themselves a fee to support the construction of the Student Center, developed the Student Life and Leadership program, and been very involved in governance. Thank you, Karen and Sonja. |
