Cuesta College’s Office of Workforce Development Projects recently was awarded a $50,000 New Connections Fund grant by The James Irvine Foundation to support its Bridge to Success program. Bridge to Success provides high school students with training in job seeking, workplace and college readiness skills. Students who are successful in the workplace and college readiness course offered at area high schools, community schools and continuation schools are eligible to attend the on-campus summer program, in which they take college credit courses, prepare for college and financial aid applications, and are employed in College offices for six weeks. Eleven high school seniors in this past year’s Bridge to Success program are now enrolled at Cuesta College. Congratulations to Mimi Naish and Matt Aydelott for their work in applying for this funding! |
