Displaying Public Calendars in Outlook

Q:  Outlook 2003 has this fantastic feature where you can display calendars side-by-side. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get some of those calendars located in the Public Folders to display along side my personal calendar. Help?

A:  This solution is so simple that I needlessly spent ½ hour in disbelief trying to make it more difficult than it actually was.

  • In the Folder List, in the Navigation Pane, right-click the public calendar (folder) for which you want to add a shortcut, and then click Add to Favorites on the shortcut menu.

The “Add to Favorites” dialog will appear.

OPTIONAL: If you wish to change the name of the public folder that appears in your Favorites folder, type a new name in the Favorite folder name box.

  • Click the Add button.
  • From Outlook's menu bar, select Go > Calendar.

The public calendar will appear as a selection in the Navigation pane under the category "Other Calendars".

Impatica – Miraculous Tool for PowerPoint Users

Q:        What is Impatica and how do I get it?

A:        Impatica is a fantastic program that allows you to easily convert your PowerPoint presentations into a compact format that you can place on the Web. It can be viewed by anyone (Mac-users, Windows-users, whoever) who has access to the Web.

If you're interested in getting Impatica, submit a work order (http://support.cuesta.edu) requesting such. Computer Services will install the software.
