October Cellular One Athletes Announced

As part of its continuing sponsorship of the Cuesta Athletics Department, Cellular One of San Luis Obispo has announced its two Athletes of the Month for October.

Freshman soccer player Jenna Webb is the women’s selection. Primarily a forward, Webb has led her team with a record pace assist count, collecting nine assists in the Cougars’ first ten games. Webb has also garnered three goals to lead Cuesta with 15 points. Webb can play standout defense and has also proven a formidable opponent when placed in a mid-field position. Thanks in good part to Webb, the Cuesta team is enjoying its best start in history by winning its first eight games.

Michael Williams, also a freshman, is the men’s choice. The 2005 Cuesta Wrestling Team Captain, Williams is wrestling at 165 pounds and has performed best at big events. He went undefeated at the Bakersfield Dulas; came in third place at the Sac City Tournament, and was rated fourth at the Golden West Tournament. Currently 8-1 on
the year, Williams has won six of those matches on pins or technical falls.

The Cellular One honor is presented each month, recognizing an athlete’s performing to the highest standards of their sport.
