World Renowned Vocal Jazz Ensemble "M-PACT"

Performs November 4 at Cuesta College Vocal Jazz Workshop

Hailed as “one of the best pop-jazz vocal ensembles in the world” (The San Francisco Chronicle) and “among the best a cappella groups in the country” (NBC’s Today Show), the pop-jazz tour-de-force, m-pact (lower case intentional), will be the headliners at this year’s Cuesta Vocal Jazz Workshop.

The public is invited to the evening concert scheduled at 8 p.m., Friday, November 4, at the Blakeslee Auditorium on the Cuesta College San Luis Obispo Campus.

The group m-pact has appeared on four continents - Europe, South East Asia, North Africa, and across the U.S. and Canada, opening and/or sharing the stage with pop superstars such as Sheryl Crow, Kenny Loggins, Lou Rawls, Isaac Hayes, Kenny G, Liza Minnelli, and Heart along with jazz legends that include Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, Take 6, The Maynard Ferguson Big Band and The Woody Herman Orchestra. Mesmerized audiences from around the world have enjoyed the thrill of m-pact’s unbelievable vocal acrobatics and delightful orchestrations, from their polished, yet authentic stage presence, to the true, artistic experience m-pact creates by the human voice alone.

Vocé, Cuesta College’s premier vocal group, specializes in vocal jazz. Vocé has won many awards and has been honored internationally. The ensemble has performed nine times at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, including this past July. The group also has performed at the International Association for Jazz Educators annual conference in Anaheim and Toronto.

General admission is $18 for adults and tickets are available at the door. Admission is $12 for students. For more information, contact Cuesta College Performing Arts at
