General top statistics:

243,685 people visited the home page from June ’03 to June ’04. 

The most popular pages after the home page are

Interesting visitor facts:

In February, a Chinese blogger* mentioned us on their site and generated additional Asian traffic from Feb. thru April. Overall, almost 3,000 visits were generated by that reference. (Note from Catherine: I can't read Chinese, so I have no idea what the article said.)

From April onward, Cal Poly sent us a lot of visitors - 5316 in all.

Interesting interrelated facts about visitors:

• In May, someone posted Cuesta College’s web address on a Sparta (Australian music band) message board and sent 2,000 people clicking over to our site. The post has been removed, so there is no way to know what the reference was. The overall tone of the site is positive and upbeat.

• In May of 2004, we had three times as many Australians visit our site than at any other time of the year.

• Sparta started the Australian leg of their tour in August, but despite playing many California venues, they have never been to Cuesta.

Search engines & techie stuff

Google, Yahoo & MSN are the most widely used search engines that direct users to our site. Welding continues to be the most popular search term after “Cuesta College” that results in hits to our site. Search terms have not changed much in the past year.

Browser use is almost consistent throughout the site:

• 86% of our visitors use IE
• 6% use AOL
• 5% use Netscape
• 4% use Mozilla
• 1% use MSN or other. (All are rounded, so doesn’t exactly add to 100).

Mozilla use has doubled since December, AOL and Netscape have declined by 1% each.

• 88% of our visitors use Windows computers
• 6.58% use unknown computer types
