President's Update

continued President's message

Special recognition to the organizers of the September 16-17 Writers’ Conference in Room 5401 and to those who have revitalized the La Guitarra Festival, which will start on September 23 in the Blakeslee Auditorium. History faculty member Dennis Judd and colleagues will make history themselves with the first Hearst Symposium at Cuesta on October 8.

Accomplishments include the smooth opening of the NCC Allied Health/Math/Science Building, with loads of appreciation to everyone who made this happen! The public dedication of the AHMS building will be held on the North County Campus on Friday, October 21, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m

The District Committee on Potential Bond Measure met September 7 to learn what is expected of them, consider the growing list of District facility needs for the next 20 years, plan an on-campus communication program, and identify potential campaign supporters as well as those who might oppose. Talk with one of these committee members to give your opinion or keep abreast of this first phase of a potential bond measure for 2006: Angela Mitchell, Pat Mullen, Kristina Krutop, Marilyn Rossa, Allison Merzon, Jane Morgan, Pete Pedersen, Ilene French, Stephan Gunsaulus, Pete Sysak, Karen Tacket, Toni Sommer, Sandee McLaughlin, Harry Schade, Ed Maduli, Dan Chacón, June Stephens and Marie Rosenwasser. District Committee meetings are open to the campus community.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 5, at 12:00 p.m. in room N1013 on the North County Campus.

Let me hear from you about your suggestions for helping Hurricane Katrina victims, how Cuesta College should meet its major facilities needs for today and tomorrow, and anything you would like to discuss with me.
