Scholarship Funds Established
for Lillian Dean and Dorothy Stork

Many students will soon have help achieving their academic dreams, with two scholarship funds that bear the names of two, badly-missed, remarkable women.

The Lillian Dean Memorial Fund has been established to fund scholarships for the annual Cuesta College Writers’ Conference. The fund is named after the late Lillian Dean, a Cuesta College Community Education employee who was instrumental in the creation of the first Writers’ Conference 20 years ago. Lillian also played key roles in the development of Seniors’ Day, Women of Distinction and College for Kids. Lillian passed away in June. She would have been 90 this month.

The Dorothy B. Stork Memorial Scholarship has been established to directly assist re-entry students. It was named after the late mother of Gil Stork. Dorothy also passed away in June and was a lifelong Central Coast resident.

Both scholarships need to reach $5,000 in order for awards to be given.
