Helen Novy Art Award Rewards Students

Recently, seven students from Cuesta College’s Fine Arts Department were awarded the Helen Novy Art Award. Each student was recognized for excellence in studio performance and will receive a cash award for their efforts.  The award is made possible through a generous donation from Mr. Fredrick G. Novy, in memory of his mother, Helen Novy.

Students who received the award include: Daniel Ulloa for Drawing and Design, Autumn Turpin for Painting, Brett Blute for Sculture, and Camelita Ortiz in Ceramics. In addition, Joy Fidel received the award for Digital Media, Marcella Gattuso for Photography and Maggie Latson for Printmaking and Etching.
