Glenda Moscoso Named as One of the 50 Most Influential Latinos on the Central Coast
   
 

Known for facilitating dialogue and civic participation within the Latino community, Glenda Moscoso has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos on the Central Coast. This first annual award was presented at a banquet held on March 18, 2006 at the historic Santa Maria Inn. Moscoso received a crystal award and wine gift basket, and was featured in a special March issue of Latino Today.

About the award, Moscoso says “I feel truly humbled that I was presented with this award. And now, more than ever, I feel a need to continue working in the community as an advocate for Latino issues.”

Outside of her work as an academic counselor at Cuesta, Moscoso has been an integral part of key Latino community groups including Vision Unida and Living in America. Moscoso is often praised for her efforts in starting collaborative partnerships with other organizations, like the SLO Chamber of Commerce. Currently Moscoso is Treasurer of the Latina Leadership Network, a statewide organization with a focus on leadership development for Latinas at levels at the California Community Colleges.
