Diane Lichty Honored as Outstanding Faculty

Business Education faculty member, Diane Lichty was selected as Cuesta’s 2006 Outstanding Faculty Employee. Lichty has been part of Cuesta’s teaching staff for nearly 25 years and was lauded for the care and compassion she brings to the classroom everyday.

Lichty is “the type of teacher I want to be ‘when I grow up,’ ” explained colleague Lelia Chambers. In addition, Lichty goes the extra mile by helping co-workers, assisting students in career counseling and job placement, reviewing and summarizing department teaching materials, and attending workshops to learn about the latest software updates. Chambers best describes Lichty as “one of those special teachers that can motivate students to learn successfully and gain confidence in themselves. Cuesta College is fortunate to have Diane as a faculty member serving students and promoting the professional and educational standards of the college.”

With the exception of the Superintendent/President, all full-time academic staff with four or more years of service and part-time temporary staff with eight or more years of service with the District are eligible to be nominated for the Outstanding Academic Employee Award.
