A four-time Western State Conference (WSC) Champion Cuesta athlete was honored at an Athletic Department luncheon earlier this month.
Aquatic star Bryan Etnyre of Huntington Beach is this year’s winner of the George Silveria Memorial Career Award. The award recognizes a number of attributes crucial to athletic victory: sportsmanship, athletic ability, leadership, scholarship, citizenship and the ability to be successfully coached. First arriving at Cuesta to play water polo in 2003, Etnyre was a member of the men’s swim team during that freshman year, and also earned all-WSC in both individual medley and backstroke. As a sophomore, he was named to the all-WSC First Team. This spring, Etnyre was made team captain of the Cuesta Swimming and Diving team and to that end, led the Cougars to second place in the WSC while also being named all-WSC in three events.
Etnyre will transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this coming fall.
Go Cougars!
