VOLUME 6, ISSUE 10   May 2005

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

In Praise of the Year Just Ended
In the tradition of understatement, “It’s been a full year.”

40th Commencement on May 20 will see just under 800 students graduate with Associate degrees and 425 will receive a total of 800 certificates. Many will earn three to four certificates. Over the past 40 years, Cuesta College has enabled 17,400 students to receive approximately 20,400 associate degrees. More Nursing, CNA and Medical Assisting students will graduate in 2004-2005! The College’s first Hospitality graduates will participate in Commencement.

Broke student headcount records! More than 11,000 students were taught in credit and non-credit classes on three campuses/centers or by distance ed this spring.

Nursing will expand by 10 more students for a total of 57 first-year students for Fall 2005, thanks to a Nursing Program financial partnership with six area hospitals and the Cuesta College Foundation. And, Cuesta Nursing graduates had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX! continued…
