College For Kids has a new program - The 2005 Spring Break Session, March 29 through April 1. The program is geared for students currently enrolled in 5-8th grade. This ever-so-popular program is highlighting hundreds of fun and educational opportunities for your children and grandchildren to enjoy. Students can benefit from learning digital imaging techniques, scanning processes and by taking several computer classes offering Office Professional Work, PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing and Internet Research. There are many arts and craft activities including beading, knitting, crocheting and learning about the tools and techniques of environmental art used in the U.S and the U.K. Always wanted to learn Russian? Well, now you can try it out during Spring Session. Explore creating poetry and find out how to arrange your own personal musical compositions by learning song-writing techniques. Also, enjoy the outdoors and have fun answering questions about geography, understanding life as a Mayan and learn about geology, rocks and fossils unique to this area. In addition we are offering a basketball and golf camp as well as a golf tournament open for youth ages 7-17. A kayak and surf day for kids ages 11-14 is scheduled to take place on March 30 and 31. Ever wonder how cultures lived off of plants? Take the Ethnobotany and Learning From the Land classes and truly understand how indigenous cultures thrived off the land. We recommend early registration, as space is limited. Register online at http://www.communityprograms.net or call our Community Programs Department at 546-3132. |
