Karen Meyers
Named Interim Dean of Instruction for Sciences, Mathematics, Nursing and Physical Education

You know Cuesta is a prime community college when it becomes a place to work after you retire. That’s exactly what Karen Meyers has done, temporarily moving from her home in Southern California to serve as Cuesta’s Interim Dean of Instruction for Sciences, Mathematics, Nursing and Physical Education. Meyers retired from Mt. San Antonio Community College more than three months ago, where she most recently served as Vice President of Community Education and Economic Development.

Before serving as Vice President, Meyers was the Dean of the Health Science Division at Mt. San Antonio College for nine years. She began her career at that institution as a faculty member in nursing. A licensed RN, Meyers earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pacific Lutheran University, her teaching credential from UCLA and her Master of Arts in Education from Cal Poly.

Meyers began her service at Cuesta on January 14, and will be the Interim Dean for 4.5 months, or until May 25.
