Cuestas
associate degree in Physical Education is a broad-based program
preparing students for a wide range of career opportunities.
Completion of an associate degree would provide the knowledge
and skills
necessary to successfully transfer to a four-year program in
Sports Science,
Kinesiology, Physical Education and other degree programs.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the Physical Education Program,
students will be able to:

Apply general principles of physical education and fitness
to various populations.

to the application of basic
correct body movement.
- Integrate
concepts of fitness and health to exercise.
- Demonstrate
a general knowledge of the profession of physical education

safe, environmentally and developmentally appropriate physical
education lessons
for various

settings.
- Interpret
basic fitness test results – cardiovascular,
strength, endurance, body composition, flexibility,
etc.

the role of the physical educator as a promoter of lifetime
wellness and physical fitness.
- Demonstrate
basic motor skill patterns to fit a variety of situations.
