Introduction
      Cuesta College offers a one-semester lecture and laboratory course in physical geology (Geol 10, 10L), and one-semester courses in historical geology (Geol 11), geologic hazards, man, and the environment (Geol 12), and the geology of California (Geol 20).   Field studies are offered to Yosemite and the Eastern Sierra Nevada, and to Death Valley (Geol 29AB).
      A complete collection of maps, mineral and rock samples, fossils, microscopes and sample preparation equipment is provided for a through introduction to the science of geology.   Field trips to local areas and to distant locals within California are integrated into the program.
      Close relations are maintained with local industry and universities with geology programs and faculty are active in professional organizations such as the Geological Society of America and the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.   Cuesta College geology program alumni occupy important industry and research positions throughout the country.
