Jill Anderson

Applied Voice Instructor

Ms. Anderson holds a B.A. in Music/Voice from Pomona College, an M.M. from the University of Southern California in Opera, and a D.M. in Voice from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Ms. Anderson teaches Applied Music Voice and beginning and intermediate Voice at Cuesta College. In addition, she teaches vocal students privately in her studio. She is a member of Opera America, American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Ms. Anderson is the founder and director of a vocal chamber group entitled Qualche Voce, with which she has produced three discs of Renaissance music. She is the co-founder and General Director of Pacific Repertory Opera, an organization she founded in 1985 with the late Jean Cook. She was also the recipient of an OPERA America Fellowship in Opera Administration in 1989–1990. She has sung professionally with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the San Francisco Operific Repertory Opera, the Pasadena Chamber Orchestra Chorus, and the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival Chorus. She has also published articles on opera in the magazine Opera Monthly. Performances she has directed include Rigoletto, Riders to the Sea, L’Enfant et les Sortileges, Die Fledermaus and Cosi Fan Tutte.
