Biography
I grew up in Sacramento, California with my parents, two sisters, two dogs, and four cats.
After graduating high school, I attended UC Berkeley, studying math and playing in the marching band. I entered the "real" world when I moved to Houston in order to work for IBM on the U.S. Space Shuttle Program.
I eventually decided that teaching would be a more rewarding way to spend my life, and after earning a Master's degree at the University of Houston, I began teaching community college. I taught for four years at Skyline College in the Bay Area before coming to Cuesta in Fall, 1999.
I am married with three dependents, Guido and Guiness (dogs) and Gabby (cat) . I enjoy teaching, running with the dogs, bowling, and just about any activity that involves being outdoors. I also love to travel. My wife Betsy and I have journeyed to Europe, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, and throughout the U.S. Someday, I hope to travel to and run the Antarctic Marathon.
