The Cuesta College International Languages Lab opened to students on January 26, 1998. It features 18 student computer stations linked to a high speed server with mirrored drives. The operating system is Windows XP. Each station has a CD rewriteable drive and the ability to import videos from a VCR.

All stations include the Microsoft Office suite giving them word and data processing capabilities. All computers in the lab have access to the World Wide Web via a T1 line.

The lab was designed looking toward the future. Although it currently has 18 computers, it has the wiring already installed for expansion to 25 student stations. The student carrels are already in place for these additional stations. All units are all free standing and can be moved around the lab, plugging into the modular power poles which are spaced throughout the room. This design should afford considerable flexibility for future configurations
