Welcome Retirees!
As a retiree of Cuesta College,
you have the opportunity to continue your health care coverage
plans.
Upon Retirement
- Notify the Insurance Office
of your choice to stay with Cuesta's insurance or to decline
within 30 days of your retirement date.
- Employees who decline the
District's coverage will not be allowed to rejoin at a later
time.
- Insurance premiums are
invoiced monthly and payments are made directly to the
Insurance Office at:

- Retirees may pay a different
price for insurance coverage than active employees.

Medicare Entitlement
- When retirees have Medicare,
Medicare coverage becomes primary and the District
coverage becomes secondary.
- Retirees with Medicare are
encouraged to evaluate the coverage and cost of District
plans with that of Medicare Supplements in order to achieve
the best coverage at a reasonable price.
Open Enrollment
- Retirees covered by the
District's insurance policies may change plans at Open
Enrollment each fall.
Changes
- If you experience a
qualifying event (marriage, divorce) or change of address
outside of Open Enrollment please contact the Insurance
Benefits Office for assistance in completing change forms.
