Please Be Aware, the Financial Aid Office must already have your
FAFSA information on filebefore your SPEC can be considered.

The process of determining eligibility for financial aid uses standard formulas and standard student budgets. When filing the FAFSA, you must always report your income from the prior year tax return. But what happens when that income decreases?

The Financial Aid Office recognizes that some students have unusual, special circumstances that may not be evident in the standard process of determining eligibility. Students with special circumstances are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office for review of their financial aid package based on those individual circumstances. Students should complete the "Special Circumstances" form and attach documentation of unusual circumstances.

All documents requested must be turned in before we can process the Special Circumstance Form. If you are not sure of your file status, please log into the myCuesta website and check your status.

Request a SPEC from the Financial Aid Office if you believe you have extenuating circumstances.
