Introduction to Sociology (Sociology 201A) Online
Spring 2012, Second Nine Weeks
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
NOTE: We will meet on the
following Tuesdays: 3/27,
4/17, and 5/15. We will meet on the San Luis Obispo campus from 7:00
- 8:30 p.m, in room 6306.
NOTE: The first and second nine weeks online courses this
semester will be on Moodle, NOT Blackboard.
NOTE: We will be using the newest editions of the Giddens
et al. textbook (8th) and Massey reader (7th) this semester, as well
as reading Code of the Street. A link to the syllabus containing
more details will soon be available at the bottom on this page.
My name is Frank Ha and this is the online version of the
Introduction to Sociology (Sociology 201A) course that I teach. The
first thing that you should do is to make sure that you can log on
to our Moodle course site.
Logging on to Moodle:
1. Go to the Moodle site at
moodle.cuesta.edu.
2. Click on the login link at the upper right corner of the page.
Login name matches
your my.cuesta login name: firstname_lastname.
Default Moodle
password is: Changeme1.
You will be forced
to change your password the first time you login. Your password must have at least 6 characters, at
least 1 digit, and at least 1 upper case letter.
If you forget your password:
1. Click on the “Forgotten your username or password?” link on
the login page.
2. To reset your password, submit your username or your email
address on the reset password page. If they can find you in the
database, an email will be sent to your email address, with
instructions how to get access again.

Logging in to our course and getting started:
After you log in, find our course, Spring 2012 - SOC 201A - CRN - Intro Sociology on the page that list the courses, click on it and
get started.
Though you may be able to log on to Moodle before the first day
of the course (Tuesday, March 20), the site will not be ready until then.
Please log on during the first day of the course and do the
listed first day tasks (week 10, part 1).
Problems logging on?:
If you are having problems logging on, go to
http://library.cuesta.edu/distance/techspt.htm for information
on how to get help. You can also try calling the
Help Desk in the Computer Lab, room 3400. Their phone number is 546-3100
ext: 2802. If no one is there, send an email to
support@my.cuesta.edu.
If you did a late add, you will also have to be added
to the Moodle site. To do this, send an email to
support@my.cuesta.edu and
tell them you need to be added to Moodle. Include the following
information:
