Introduction to
Sociology (Sociology 201A) Online
Spring 2010, Second Nine Weeks
My name is Frank Ha and this is the online version of the
Introduction to Sociology (Sociology 201A) course that I teach.
Here is the syllabus for the spring 2010
second nine-weeks
course. Information on required texts, mandatory meetings, and how
to log in to the Blackboard site is found there.
Though you may be able to log on to
Blackboard before the first day of the course, the site will not be
ready until then ( Monday, March 22, for the second nine weeks class).
The second nine weeks course, section
30422, has three mandatory face-to-face meetings at the SLO Campus
on the following Monday dates:
3/29, 4/26,
and 5/17 in room 6303.
All meetings will be from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
There is no orientation
meeting this semester. We will be taking our first exam on 3/29.
Materials for this course will be in PDF format. You will need
the Adobe Acrobat reader. You can download a free copy of the reader
here.
Please log on during the first day of the course. Read the
following documents on the opening page (of our Blackboard course
site) carefully: Syllabus, Getting Started, Getting Started on the
Discussion Board, and Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any
questions, make sure that you ask them now, either email me your
question (fha@cuesta.edu or
Blackboard email) or post the question to the questions section on
the discussion board. I will be communicating with you primarily
through the Blackboard discussion board. Make sure you check the
discussion board, particularly the announcements section, regularly
and carefully. Get started with the readings and participating in
the discussions on the first day of the course. The reading schedule
is on the syllabus.
If you are having problems logging on, go to
http://library.cuesta.edu/distance/techspt.htm for information
on how to get help. If you did a late add, and you cannot log on,
follow these instructions:
- Send an email to
support@my.cuesta.edu.
- Include your name, class, section number (CRN), instructor's
name, and your my.cuesta Login ID.
- Tell them you need to be added to Blackboard.
