ESL Events The Immigrant Experience
Recognizing the diverse multicultural backgrounds of our ESL students, several Cuesta ESL classes from all campuses create a thematic display titled “The Immigrant Experience.” The display includes short compositions written by students about their personal immigration experience. They write about their reasons for immigrating to the United States, the various challenges they encounter leaving their countries and families, and the challenges of adapting to the U.S. culture.
The Immigrant Experience display is exhibited at the South and North county sites as well as in San Luis Obispo in the fall semester. The event is sponsored by The Cultural Diversity Committee and the ESL Division.
