ESL Division Chair: Douglas Pillsbury

 

Education: B.A. English, University of Arizona; M.A.T. in ESL, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ; Single Subject Teaching Credential, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Cuesta Courses: Douglas was the first full time ESL instructor at Cuesta College, and he started in 1989. He has taught ESL 1, 2, 3, 5, 6B, and Beginner Conversation ESL 15. He was the ESL Coordinator for many years and just recently became the ESL Division Chair in 2007.

Experience: In New Jersey, Douglas taught ESL at the Intensive Language Institute for 3 years, the Paterson Adult Learning Center for 4 years, and the Bergen Community College Adult Learning Center for 3 years.

Hobbies/Interests: playing piano, gardening, doing home projects, reading, attending the International Film Festival of SLO, learning about social justice and environmental protection issues.
