ESL Courses

The ESL program offers six levels of language instruction. Courses range from beginner to high-advanced. Most main classes meet 6 hours per week during an 18 week semester. These courses focus on building English language skills for speakers of other languages with an emphasis on reading, writing, and grammar. Most courses include a computer lab component.

The ESL program also offers conversation courses that meet 2 hours per week during an 18 week semester. Conversation courses focus on communication skills, and they help students develop their listening comprehension and speaking fluency. These courses aim to enable students to function in academic, professional and everyday English-speaking situations. Students may take a conversation course at the same time as one of the main courses.
