Cuesta College offers one of the few Construction Technology degrees in California. Our program has evolved into one of the finest in the state. We have active participation with the local construction industry through our Advisory Committee and Internship Program. In addition, the San Luis Obispo County Builders Exchange provides support by providing information about our program to local builders. The Builders Exchange, in conjunction with Cuesta’s Construction Technology Program, offers placement for students who are available for employment.

Our curriculum is under constant review by our Advisory Committee. The curriculum is directed to provide an opportunity to obtain an A.S. Degree that is transferable to a four-year university or a Certificate of Proficiency that will provide basic construction skills. Our program is centered around our homebuilding project which provides students an opportunity to work on an actual house under the guidance of Cuesta instructors and professional tradespeople. Construction Technology students will learn the basics of residential and commercial construction in classroom and lab environments and also with local industry experts in our Internship Program.
