being waged by GLAAD, with regional chapters reporting on events in

about creating safe schools for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered
(Human Rights Campaign) This site allows you to lobby your senators and
representatives, and to immediately send them a message. The battles
that are being fought regarding lesbian/gay legislation and litigation
are chronicled throughout the HRC site, with the HRC link page containing
approximately 55 links, many of them political in nature.

National Committee on Pay Equity
The National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE), founded in 1979, is a national
membership coalition working to eliminate sex- and race-based wage

National Urban League
The Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement
empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream.
National Center for Lesbian Rights is a national legal resource center
with a commitment to advancing the rights and safety of lesbians and
their families through a program of litigation, public policy advocacy,
free legal advice and counseling, and public education. In addition,
NCLR provides representation and resources to gay men, and bisexual
and transgendered individuals on key issues that also significantly

Teaching Diverse Learners
Teaching diverse learners: Equity and excellence for all. The website
contains “The Diversity Kit” which one can print out and utilize as
hate and promoting tolerance (a web project of the Southern Poverty
Law Center). The site contains online bias tests, current information
and lots of free brochures, posters, videos, etc. to promote acceptance.
