How many credit hours do I need for an associate degree?
If I get an A.A./A.S. (associate in arts/science degree), can I automatically
transfer to a bachelor's degree granting institution?
How many credit hours do I need for an associate degree?
Completion of 60 degree applicable credit hours is needed to obtain an associate degree. There are general education,
math competency, English competency, and other requirements needed to obtain the degree. Please refer to the
Cuesta College catalog for specific requirements.

No, an associate degree from Cuesta College means that you have completed a community college degree. In
the process of completing your requirements to transfer, you may obtain an A.A./A.S. degree if you
