How do I sign up for an assessment test?
All first time freshmen that have never attended college are strongly encouraged to take both the English and math
assessment tests. If you have successfully completed college English and math you may not need to take assessment
tests. If you are taking any Cuesta College classes that have English or math prerequisites, you will need to take
the assessment test or provide your college transcripts showing successful completion of prerequisite courses.
If it has been a long time since you took the prior classes, you may want to consider taking the assessment
tests as an indication of your current skill level.
If you are interested in taking an assessment test at another college, and would like to use them for
placement here, please contact the Assessment Services Office
(805)546-3951 to see if Cuesta College accepts the assessment scores from that college.
