Transfer Admission Agreements
Transfer Admission Agreements (TAA) are commitments that selected colleges and universities make to
Cuesta students who meet specific GPA and course requirements. A TAA serves as a contract between a student and
a transfer college or university. Students who complete the specified requirements are
guaranteed admission. Please contact the Cuesta College Counseling Office (805) 546-3138 or the Transfer/Career
Counseling Center (805) 546-3162 for more information.
Guaranteed
Transfer Option (GTO)
The GTO was established to provide an alternate path to a University of California degree for eligible California
residents who were unable to be accommodated at any UC campus because of budget constraints. Instead,
these applicants will receive an offer of guaranteed transfer admission from one or more UC campuses. As with
freshman admission offers, students can choose which one to accept. By accepting an offer from a specific campus,
students agree to start their degree at a California community college and transfer to the selected UC campus when
they reach junior standing. The UC campus, in turn, will provide these students with individual academic plans that
specify the lower-division requirements they must successfully complete at a California community college.
