CAREER ASSESSMENT
Career assessment resources are available for San Luis Obispo County residents on-line through Cuesta College
Transfer/Career Counseling Center: the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (a personality assessment) and the Strong Interest Inventory
(an interest assessment). If you have been told by an instructor to take one or both of the assessments, please
proceed using the instructions given to you. If you are visiting this site and are interested in taking one
or both of the assessments, please contact Transfer/Career Counseling Center at 546-3162 to receive further instructions.
A counseling appointment is required to have your assessment results interpreted. The cost for taking the MBTI
or the Strong Interest Inventory is $12.50 for each assessment test.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
When taking the MBTI please remember:
- There are no right or wrong responses.
- Respond in a way that reflects the way you are, not the way you want to be.
- Respond being completely yourself, not as when artificial circumstances are being imposed, for example when
at work.
If you are ready to take the assessment, CONTINUE TO MBTI.
Strong Interest Inventory
When taking the Strong Interest Inventory please remember:
- This inventory reflects your interests and not your skills and abilities.
- Respond on the basis of what does and doesn't appeal to you.
- Respond with your initial reaction. Don't try to read between the lines.
If you are ready to take the assessment, CONTINUE TO STRONG.
