Welcome to Nutrition 210 Online!

Spring 2010 Students: Course Site Registration Opens Friday before classes begin (01/15/10)!

Special Announcement: You are expected to already have the computer skills for an online class such as saving in pdf, manipulating files, and using different forms of interactive computer programs, before enrolling in this class. The course password is nutr210spring. This class does not use Cuesta Blackboard. It uses Pageout.

Nutrition 210 is offered as a 100% on-line course, which means that ALL class work and exams will be completed outside of the traditional classroom. There are NO mandatory meetings. Nutrition 210 is taught by Cherie Moore, M.S., and full-time nutrition instructor at Cuesta College.

This class is only for the motivated and online-savvy student. You must be familiar with using software, such as always clicking in space away from your answers so that you “lock-in” answers. Not clicking to lock in can result in a large loss of points as your answers may change. There is an excellent Intro to Online half unit class at Cuesta College you can take before this class. No late assignments are accepted.

Do This First:

·        Save this page as a Favorite/Bookmark so that you can easily find it again.

·        Print out this page so that you will have the detailed instructions of course material requirements and how to login the first time.

·        Read and follow this page carefully and as soon as you enroll in the class (through myCuesta), then enter the password listed above to register on the Pageout course site.

·        Be sure to register on Pageout (instructions below) by January 19th, remembering the first assignment is due January 22nd. You will be responsible for reading all of the information on this Welcome Letter and the course site. You do not need to e-mail me before you begin as I will know you are enrolled in the class by your registration on Pageout and submission of your first assignments.  Add codes will be given, if space available, until January 22nd.

·        This class is only for the motivated and online-savvy student. No late assignments are accepted and the class moves very quickly.

How To Contact The Instructor:

·        E-mail              cmoore@cuesta.edu

Special Notes:

·        Don’t forget to not only enroll in this class through Cuesta, but register on the Pageout Course Site after January 15th    and before January 19th.  Students not registered in Pageout by January 22nd may be dropped from the course.

·        Once you have registered in Pageout, you will be automatically activated.

·        Make sure you enter a current e-mail address into the Pageout program-that is how I will e-mail you for group distribution e-mails! All e-mails will also appear as announcements on your opening page on Pageout so be sure to click on these announcements to view the whole message. Check your spam if you do not receive a weekly e-mail from me in your inbox.

·        Be sure to read the syllabus on Pageout before beginning the course and submitting the assignments.

·        The midterm and final exam are timed-you have only 2 hours to take them. All other assessments may be viewed and then re-visited within the open period. Do not click on the midterm and final until you are ready to take them or your time will run out. They are 100 points each so you will want to follow these instructions.

·        Lastly- this class is not a “work-at-your-own-pace” class. You have deadlines each Friday. No exceptions are made. Please realize by taking this class you are committing to submitting these regular assignments on time.

Welcome and Good Luck!
