Q: What are the requirements to take the
class?
A: Maintain enrollment in 7 units (including Work Experience)
and work a minimum
of 5 hours per week.
Q: What is the difference between
Occupational Work and General
Experience?
A: Occupational Work Experience requires the student to
be working in a
career-path related job. Units are transferable to most
California State
Universities.
General Work Experience represents a non-career related
job. Units are
applicable toward your Cuesta degrees/certificates and
satisfies full time unit
requirements but are not transferable.
Q: How many times can I take a Work
Experience class?
A: Occupational Work Experience has a 4 time limit up to 16
units in your college
career. General Work Experience can be taken twice for a total
of 6 units.
Q: Why is there a lecture and lab requirement?
A: Lecture is the classroom (workshop)
component. The lab represents the number
of hours worked per week.
Q: What if I am self-employed?
A: That is fine! We will need to verify
your work with a responsible party.
Q: I have more than one job. Can I combine them to get the units
I need?
A: Yes, hours may be combined to equal
units needed. Your advisor will help
factor in goals for both jobs.
Q: How will I be graded?
A: Grades are determined by percentage
points including participation, learning
objectives, and a student essay. |
