Bev's
Biography:
Beverly Larson: Bev (as her friends call her) started teaching at
Cuesta College on a part-time basis in January, 1991. At that time, she was
also teaching at Cal Poly on a full-time basis and had been since
Fall 1988. In January, 1998, she was hired by
Cuesta as a full-time instructor and now teaches part-time at Cal Poly. (boy,
is that confusing)
Bev sports a southern accent (although she thinks she's lost it) which goes
back to her Oklahoma upbringing. She admits to being a laid-back
Okie and puts up with the teasing from her
students and colleagues alike.
As a re-entry student, she attended Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas (yes, there is a Boothill). Graduating with a 3.85 GPA, she had her pick of the main Kansas universities but chose Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, because of it's superb Business College. 3 ½ years later, she graduated with an MBA focusing in Accounting, Economics and Finance.
She was in the business world for several years and just happened to be in the central coast area and saw a classified ad for an Accounting Instructor at Cal Poly. And, as they say, the rest is history.

Bev has three grown children and two grandsons, Isaiah and Caleb, all living
in California. Her son, Kale, lives in Arnold; Kimela
and the boys are from Roseville, and Keela resides
in Wildamar. As you can imagine, she burns up the
highway between them. She also, of course, has pictures of her family glued to
the walls in her office (similar to these).
Bev's favorite quote: "Choose a job you like, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
