Designated Degree
Important: Effective Fall 2009, all degrees require a 2.00 GPA in general education coursework, and a grade of “C” or better in all major/area of emphasis coursework. This affects all students establishing catalog rights in Fall 2009 or a subsequent term, and any student choosing to change their catalog year of evaluation to 2009-2010 or later.
A student who satisfies the following definition of attendance will follow the Cuesta College curriculum for degrees, general education and certificates in effect:
"Attendance" means attendance in at least one semester or two quarters each academic year. A student who misses two consecutive semesters, or three quarters in an academic year, excluding summer session, will lose catalog rights. In that case, the student must follow (1) the Cuesta College catalog that coincides with the student's date of re-enrollment in any regionally accredited post secondary institution, or (2) a subsequent Cuesta College catalog. Total withdrawal from a semester does not constitute a one-semester break in attendance when W's are posted on a student's record. Campus divisions may authorize or require substitutions for discontinued courses in certificate or degree programs. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS FROM ALL REGIONALLY ACCREDITED POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS ATTENDED AND OTHER APPROPRIATE VERIFYING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ON FILE WITH CUESTA COLLEGE BEFORE A RECORD MAY BE EVALUATED. If you have work-in-progress at another institution during the term you anticipate completing your final degree requirements, you must request an OFFICIAL transcript of that coursework to be sent to Cuesta College after the grades have been posted. Transcripts must be sent to:

If non-native credits are from a college which is on the quarter system, the credits will be converted to semester credits (quarter credits / 1.5 = semester credits).
