Cuesta College operates a bookstore as a service to students and the community at large by making available books and instructional supplies required for coursework.

The bookstore is a self-service operation. A copy of your registration receipt is helpful when shopping for your textbooks. Costs of textbooks and supplies for coursework averages from $60 to $90 per class.  For students that need financial assistance in purchasing books, the Financial Aid Office offers an Emergency Book Loan Program available to students who have purchased an ASCC Student ID Card.

Payment by personal check, Visa, Discover, or MasterCard are accepted provided identification is presented (i.e., driver’s license, ASCC Student ID Card, or any picture ID). Checks must have a local address, phone number, and be made payable to Cuesta College Bookstore. Two-party or payroll checks are not accepted. Check cashing is limited to $5 over purchase provided the above conditions are met. A $15 service charge will assessed on al returned checks.

Students may purchase books online, pay by credit card, and conveniently have their books ready for quick pick-up at the Bookstore located on the San Luis Obispo campus. Have your order number ready at the time of pick-up.

Refunds and exchanges are limited to specific conditions and time periods. Books purchased for a semester may be returned for a refund or exchange only within the first three (3) weeks of the semester in which purchased. For the summer session, the refund or exchange deadline is by Thursday of the first week of classes. A cash register receipt is required and new books must be in perfect condition for a full refund. Workbooks that have been written in cannot be refunded.

A Book Buy Back service for students wanting to sell their textbooks for cash is held at the end of the semester or session during final exams.
